Well, its been over a month since my last post and a lot has happened. Im back at school, all moved in, and have the first month classes done. I have finally started on Consequence Picture’s new website, which has turned out to be a lot more difficult than I imagined. I remember in like, 2002 or 2004, coding was being dominated by iframes and tables, and when I decided to help my buddy out by making his website, I was expecting it to be business as usual. Create a neat layout in Photoshop, slice it all up, export, configure the tables and the iframes, and bam. New website. Well… things have changed.
Since December or so I have been working on wrapping my head around the idea of divs and its all finally coming together. I scrapped all the templates I made for the site and decided to start from (almost) scratch. To hell with the graphic layouts that I had created. It was just not going to work. Instead, I started a simple div-style “template” with Dreamweaver and have been slowly tailoring the code to my needs. There is still so much to be done, but the foundation is there. Check it out at http://consequencepictures.com. Please dont view the source. It is embarrassing to say the least.
As for music, I have finally discovered the proper way to get a decent mix down in Ableton. Beyond that, I have discovered parallel compression, which has really changed the game for me. Ive started a few new projects employing these new techniques, and I must say it sounds awesome. Before I get to far ahead of myself though I think Ill go back and start slowly re-mixing my old files. You know, the old shit I have on Soundcloud. Speaking of which, I found a lot of my old Albeton projects that I thought were long gone (have I mentioned this before??). Im looking forward to going back and fixing everything up and maybe, in six months or so, release an actual EP? Shit, if it all works out the way I want it to, Ill have an LP on my hands.
Anyway, I think thats about it. Heres a bootleg I did from Junip’s “To the Grain” (before figuring out all the mixing stuff). And after make more headway on Consequence’s site, Ill jump into getting my own site in order. Until then, Tumblr will do. Peace,

Its almost Christmas! Bah! Hate it! Im Scroogin hard this year. No (spare) money, work sucks, my car blows, and all this damn cold weather is making my arthritis flare up like crazy! But…
School is right around the corner and I couldnt be more excited. I decided to hold off on any new upgrades for the moment, as Ill be able to use the studios at school again AND Ill be able to start spinning on a regular basis. Sweet. Other than that, no real interesting stuff in my world of production at the moment. My job has only allowed one day off each week, if Im lucky, and that has limited my time immensely. Ive been laying low, opening some projects here and there to tweak a few things, and started a new beat for my boss, who claims he can spit hot fire with the right sound. Well see.
In other news, Haiti was awesome and Im malaria free (as far as I know). I got a chance to take a D70 with me as well that my friends lady allowed me to borrow. Shes a trooper. You can find some of the pictures I took on this new fancy Flickr account I created. I kind of want to get a camera now.
The link is HERE
Anyway, time to get back to work. Enjoy the Holiday for me! Ill be back in a week or two :)

Hey guys. Been a while I know… work has been crazy during this holiday season so far and I’ve been intentionally working overtime in an effort to amass a large quantity of money for school. So far its not going too well ha!
Anyway, I’m currently in the car on my way to the airport. My father asked me a few months ago if I would be willing to go to Haiti. I said, “sure.” Apparently he wasn’t exactly
He just hit a road barrel hahaha
Anyway, he wasn’t all too serious about going until I agreed to. Turns out, its a much more involved process than either of us had imagined. But the prep work is done and were on our way. Ill try to post while I’m there since ill have tons of free time in the evenings, but since I only have my phone I won’t promise anything.
So! I will get back to y’all later. In the mean time, hit up my twitter to keep up with my latest shenanigans. Peaceeee

I don’t really have much to say today but I feel like I need to post something. SO DIS WUTS UP.
Im currently in the process of upgrading to some Alesis M1’s and an ART SL-1 amp. Its what Josh is running in the studio and they sound amazing for the price. Hes convinced that my shitty M-Audio monitors are holding me back, which I totally agree with. I was going to spring for the Yamaha H80m’s but I overlooked the fact that they were like, what, $350 a PIECE. So yea, even after I get them at cost from my brother, theyre way too expensive… And for what its worth, the Alesis sound just a flat and amazing (so Ive heard).
Beyond that, Im starting to find that a lot of the tracks I take into the studio come OUT of the studio with way more effects and synths and my PC is finally starting to flounder. For instance, I have a simple four-bar loop Ive been messing with, and it runs my processor up to ~60%. Granted, one of the tracks is five stacked Sylenth1’s (which by the way is pretty much the last synth you’ll ever need, in my opinion), but still. Oh well, I think that just means that Ive come a long way in the past few years. Really just in the past year and a half.
Anyway, besides all that Ive been working on getting my website up and running, but holy shit am I lazy. Its getting difficult trying to pull all this shit together. But once its all said and done at least I wont have to fuck with it anymore.
One more thing, shoutout to @WesleyPipesHats for making me an awesome custom hat and for just being a badass in general. Follow him on twitter for BOGO and shit.
I think thats all Ive got for now. Ill get a picture of the hats up sometime later. Actually, Im too lazy to post it on here. Just check em out: http://twitpic.com/759hyy
PEACE
Audio with 84 plays
[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]Done messing with this biatch. Consider this final. Might mix it down some more in the figure though. Should I make it downloadable?
Still never decided on what bass to go with either. That might change in the future as well. Anyway,
ENJOY

Been a while, eh? The guy who I spend most of my studio time with went completely MIA, and then randomly showed back up in town the other day. I was pretty shitty about not getting any time in the studio, but it gave me some room for some seriously stoned nights at home to get back into using Reason, as well as running it with Ableton. The result? Well!
Im not going to post anything that is a work in progress. Ive been thinking about it lately and it seems like anytime I DO post something that Ive been working on, it gives me less incentive to finish it. Which is why I have overflowing hard drives of half completed music. Not necessarily a bad thing, but you get my point. I really have Josh to thank for this minor epiphany. After he got back in town, I shot him a rough mix down of a new track I threw together (in about an hour) and he was absolutely floored. I told him to feel free to send it around a bit and he refused to do so until I really put some work in.
Again, shitty at first, but hes right. Hes been my production “mentor” for several years now and I think Im finally starting to pay attention. Not only that, but we have really come a long way in terms of how well we work together. Hoping in the next two weeks or so to release this electro monster, but honestly, Im a bit worried about copyright shit… (hint: Busta Rhymes). Fuck it. Figure it out later.

Oh and this song reminds me of fall. And pumpkin spice things, hoodies, long hair, and Oakland. And Miller High Life?

Focus. I lack it. Work, school, errands, friends, pillow fights… no task is safe from my lack of focus. Getting a track finished is no exception, and I find myself always rotating two or three different tracks every few days. But in those few days, I’ll get another idea and make a new track which causes me to forget about one of the others, and thus the cycle continues. You have no idea how many times I got up to stretch while writing that paragraph.
That being said, I have an arsenal of material to work with but no tracks that I could legitimately call “finished.” I’ve got all sorts of stuff that I play for my friends, but I always end up saying shit like, “ah yea, and this part right here, I dunno, I just sorta tossed it in there real quick so uh..”
I can’t seem to find a balance. Do you guys always have just one or two projects that you’re working on? And do you finish one (or both) of them before starting something new? Another thing is I think I keep going back to old stuff after I’ve learned how to overcome whatever obstacle it was that made me stop working on it in the first place. Any thoughts?
And that song up there? Just dig it.

Not at this time, anyway. The Jason Derulo remix contest deadline on indabamusic.com is today and so here I am, for the millionth time in my life, face-palming in front of a computer screen. My plan of attack was to essentially just create a remix, more of the original song rather than Jason Derulo’s, and just layer the lack-luster vocals on top. Which is exactly what I did! And it sounds great aside from the mixing. So I take it to my buddy at a local studio here (which I wont name…?) to help me mix it all down, and we end up getting stoned and he swears he can ”hear a discrepancy” in the bass line I’ve programmed. Two hours flys by while he tries to figure this shit out, I have to go home, and nothing got accomplished.
Pot and deadlines, you win this round. I will still get my remix polished and put up just because I think its cool but I doubt what I have now will get submitted unless I can convince dude to do it from the studio. If it does get posted, I’ll get a link up here. Anyway, here’s some tracks to kick off your Wednesday.
